The Douglas-Cherokee Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides assistance with home heating and cooling needs and is open to all households that meet income guidelines and provide documentation of all household income. The total gross annual income must not exceed the Federal Income Guidelines. You can check your income eligibility here. Our fiscal year runs from October 1st to September 30th. Applicants can only be served one time within the fiscal year with a payment made directly to the energy vendor.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program is funded through the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA). These services are available to all eligible recipients regardless of race, color, age, religion, disability, or national origin.
